Simón Bolívar was a Venezuelan military and political leader who played an instrumental role in the establishment of Venezuela, Ecuador, Bolivia, Peru and Colombia as sovereign states, independent of Spanish rule assuming the presidency of each of these new nations.
The pocket watch owned by Simón Bolívar which he carried through all his life, surviving all the battles has been fully restored by Time Innovations, LLC. Now completed it is on its way to a museum in Venezuela. The restoration project lasted 6 months and was a labor of love considering the historical context. A book on the restoration is currently under development.
A short video was posted on Facebook on September 19, 2014 by Daniel Ramlagan, from Time Innovations of the process involved in restoring the historical timepiece. A remarkable time in history preserving the legacy of a pocket watch that was once owned by Simón Bolívar.
